Ken Cameron is a Calgary-based playwright, travel writer, all-around theatre impresario and persuasive communications specialist.
He is the author of more than fifteen plays, including Harvest which The Calgary Herald described as “comic gold”. The play has been produced by theatres across Canada since its premiere in 2007/2008. Harvest and Other Plays was published by Newest Press in July 2010. My Morocco played to sold-out houses at the Edmonton Fringe Festival. In his one man show, Ken acted onstage for the first time in fifteen years and was praised by critics for his “killer embodiment of William S. Buroughs”.
My One And Only premiered at The Alberta Theatre Projects’ Enbridge playRites Festival ‘04 and received a second production by Edmonton’s Workshop West Theatre in April 2005. The play was featured at The National Arts Centre’s On The Verge reading series, received an Honourable Mention in the Herman Voaden National Playwriting Competition and was nominated for the Gwen Pharis Ringwood Award for playwriting. It was produced in New York City by the Bridge Theatre Company in November 2005 under the title Making Marilyn.
Recently Ken has developed Brave Communications: Performance Training for Leaders, using his playwriting and theatre skills to provide business leaders with the techniques to transform everyday meetings into presentations that inspire action.
Ken was the Artistic Director of the Magnetic North Theatre Festival, Canada's National Festival of Contemporary Canadian Theatre in English, co-produced with the National Arts Centre of Canada, from 2008-2010. Ken was also the Executive Director of the Alberta Playwrights' Network, a provincial organization that develops plays and playwrights around Alberta from 2001-07. He spent five years as Assistant Director at One Yellow Rabbit Performance Theatre.

Ken has a Masters’ of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University. Ken participated in the master classes for Directors at the World Stage Festival in Toronto, and is a member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada.
He was named one of Calgary’s Top 40 Under 40 by Calgary Inc Magazine in 2006.
He lives contentedly with his wife Rita Bozi in Calgary. Rita is alternative health care practitioner and facilitator with her private practice Brilliant Healing Systems. A former modern dancer, actor and playwright Rita has had many careers and diverse interests; she is currently exploring the art of the short story. An avid photographer, Rita's photographs form the backdrop of My Morocco, accompany Ken’s travel articles and appear throughout this website. She is currently hard at work on a book about her parents escape from Hungary following the 1956 Revolution and their eventual reunion in Canada.
